Goodbye For Now.

It's time for me to say goodbye to Alice Valentine.

Jarod and I have started a new blog called Him + Her. We'll be doing movie reviews, posts about fashion, food, lifestyle, etc. Sometimes we'll agree on things, and sometimes we'll disagree. Hopefully there will be a little something for everyone to enjoy reading. Perhaps even couple's can start reading it together. We'll be doing it sort of anonymously, just calling each other Him and Her - although if you're coming from this blog you'll know our names and what we look like.

Anyways, hope to see you over at Him + Her!

1000 awesome things.

I'm inspired. I LOVE being inspired.

I discovered this fab project by Monsieur Cabinet (aka Dave) and am inspired to do my own version of it. So... I will be doing a daily mostly daily illustration doodle of something awesome. Or something I love. Or something that just makes me want to capture it on paper because it makes me feel good.

Will I try and do one doodle every day? Yes.
Will I upload one every day? Definitely not. I hate scanning things. But I will eventually scan them all, I'll just do it in groups.
Do I want you to play along with me? Of course! Add a link in the comments to your blog, Flickr, whatever! Take your own spin on the project... write a poem a day, take a photo a day... do as you please!

This is why you're...

I while ago I came across the This is why you're fat blog which shows pictures of meals that are pretty ridiculous. I was amazed at just how many ways you can eat bacon. Although it makes me ill to look at most of the pictures, I still can't help but check up on the blog every now and then to see the newest creations people are putting in to their bodies. 

 

I was pleased to discover a similar blog called This is why you're thin! Instead of showing images of food crimes, they show pictures of delicious and healthy meals like these. Yum!

Right Now.

Currently lying on the sofa listening to the radio. I love this radio station. 

Just finished sorting the laundry to get ready for tomorrow. Monday is our laundry day and since I don't get home until 6PM I like to sort it the day before so Jarod can throw a load or two in for me before he goes to work at 4. Sometimes he does almost all of it for me because he's just that awesome.

Before that I finished doing my share of the dishes. Jarod and I have a double sink so he gets the left side and I get the right. We've been battling over who's turn it is to do the dishes since we started living together five years or so ago. We've lived in four homes together and only had a dishwasher in one of them. We've tried taking turns doing all of the dishes but that didn't "pan" out. Having separate sinks seems to be working pretty well for us.

Before doing the dishes I made another book. This one has actual stitched binding and was pretty exciting to finish! I'll start posting pictures of my books after I make a few more practice ones.

About to read a new vegan cookbook, Vegan Lunch Box. Check out the blog here. Cookbooks make me happy. Vegan cookbooks make me even happier. I have a ton but can't resist getting new ones! 

After that I'm going to have a nice shower and give myself a manicure before Jarod gets home from hockey around 9:30PM. I think we'll then watch episode six of the first season of Mad Men.

Gucio

Oh my... I'm blushing. Take a peak at the Gucio Photography website. Both of the pics on their opening page are of my wedding :) Awww! 

Tonight was really fun! I got to hang out with Anna and Kasia for a long time talking about all sorts of things. Design, photography, life, skinny pants (and REALLY skinny pants on a guy behind us) etc. Now I'm at home tucked in to bed with Gizmo chewing his bone near my feet. 

Good night, sleep tight, don't let the bed bugs bite!

Uppercase!

I can't tell you how excited I am for this. I ordered a subscription to Uppercase before seeing the first issue. I knew it would be a beautiful and inspiring magazine and boy was I right. And guess what dad? It's Canadian! I've also been wanting to check out The Regional Assembly of Text for some time now, so I'm excited for that, too!

New dream of mine: To have a piece of my work published in Uppercase.

I have lots of ideas for paintings swarming around in my head right now. Can't wait to make them come to life.
