Coraline

Jarod and I went to see the movie Coraline on Saturday. We saw it in 3D and it was awesome! I think Jarod liked it far more than he had expected.

I couldn't help notice a bit of a similarity between Coraline and myself. She has dark hair (a tad more blue than mine) and yellow rainboots, just like me! She is also very curious, and loves food :)

Her friend in the movie is a boy who has curly hair (You've probably never seen Jarod grow is hair...) and gloves that look like skeleton hands. Jarod has those gloves too!

We also saw a preview for Up, which I am waiting anxiously for.

Where the Wild Things Are

This movie looks spectacular. I can't wait for it to come out! Watch the preview and get tingles like I did.

Tea Party Paintings

These two paintings are from a set of four that I did. I am getting ready to re-launch my Etsy shop and when I do I will have prints of these available for purchase.

Typewriter

I often see vintage typewriters for sale on various websites I visit, such as Etsy, and although I pause briefly to marvel at their beauty, I have never wanted to spend the hundreds of dollars that they cost, not to mention the shipping price.

But then I discovered this beauty.

Did you notice that she is called Valentine? That's right. It's meant to be. Sadly this particular princess has found a home, but I am sure there are lots more out there who are just as pretty as she. 

Apparently she is a Olivetti Valentine typewriter, designed by Ettore Sottsass in 1969. The following is from mytypewriter.com.

Sottsass designed the Valentine typewriter (with Perry A. King) for Olivetti in 1969 to be an "anti-machine machine," for use "anyplace but an office. Undoubtedly one of the great design classics, the Valentine expresses the mood of its time: goodbye to the bulky cast-iron housings of old typewriters, hello to the new mobility of a light, modern, plastic casing made from ABS. The Valentine typewriter is a very collectible portable in spite of the fact that it is relatively of recent vintage.

Wedding shoes, oh wedding shoes. When will I decide what to wear? I eventually purchased a pretty inexpensive pair of white heels a while back, and although they are quite lovely they aren't the "red sexy heels" I had been dreaming of. All of the pairs I keep falling in love with are quite expensive, but these babies are within reason. Do you like?

Ouch.

I just fell. I was getting up off the sofa to go to bed and I was carrying a plate of banana bread (I baked it today!) and a full glass of water. I slipped on a magazine that was on the floor and went flying in the air and landed flat on my left hip. My glass of water flew all over the carpet and my banana bread ended up on the floor too. It really hurt, but I was a big girl and didn't cry :) I even called Jarod at work to tell him about it. My hip still hurts... I hope I get a big bruise to show off to Jarod. He always gets crazy bruises and I hardly ever get any- not that I want bruises but if you get hurt you want something to show how bad it was... never mind :) 

At least I fell today and not on the big day!

My mom came over again tonight and we spent several hours printing all of the invitation pieces and cutting them out to get ready for the invitation-making session we have planned on Saturday. Sadly I realized after printing and cutting every sheet that I forgot an "s" in respondez s'il vous plait. 

Darn.

65 Days until our wedding.

Didn't go to school today :( Felt nauseous this morning so I slept all day. Have to go to school tomorrow. The last thing I need right now is to get behind in anything. 

My mom got in to town the other day and so she stopped by last night and we got to hang out for a few hours and go over wedding details. This Friday we meet with the caterer and the rental company, and Saturday is invitation making (yes, I finally finished designing them).

I spent several hours today sitting on the sofa with Gizmo and my laptop going over wedding to do lists and figuring out what everyone needs to do to make his thing happen. 

School is almost over and so I am getting tons of final projects that need hours of attention and I'm having trouble finding the energy. A few more weeks and then I can put my full attention in to the wedding... and then enjoy the big day and the honeymoon :)
