Bus Talk.

Now that I take the bus to and from school (except when I phone Jarod and ask him sweetly to pick me up if I'm off early) I have noticed several things:

1. Listening to music on my ipod while I walk to the bus stop makes me want to bust out dancing in the street. 

2. I have serious lack of music knowledge, and therefor am sick of my play list and am having trouble finding awesome new songs.

3. People can be awesome, and people can suck. 

People rock: When the bus was stuffed full one day and we were leaving the stop a small boy was trying to get off but was having trouble because of all the people. As the bus pulled away almost everyone on the bus started yelling to stop so the boy could get off.

People suck: Today on my way home I got on the bus and found a seat. I noticed a guy with his back pack taking up the seat beside him (he was also in the "give-up-your-seat-to-elderly" section. Later, a woman and her very young son got on the bus and the guy didn't even move his bag for them. I ended up giving her my seat. At a later stop two elderly women got on and he STILL didn't move his bag or give up his seat. One of the women had to ask him to move his bag.

4. Although it takes longer, I think I prefer busing to school rather than driving. Driving gives me anxiety. And, when I bus I get fresh air and exercise walking to and from the bus stop. 

Shoes!

I have been waiting (and waiting and waiting) for my favourite vegan shoe line Olsen Haus to come out with their new collection. I wanted to purchase a pair to wear to my wedding, but the previous collection didn't have a kiss-ass pair of red heels. So I went ahead and bought a cheap ($30) pair of white heels from elsewhere.

I checked the Olsen Haus website today... and the new collection is out!! Eeeek! AND they have a stunning pair of red heels....

I'm in love.

No Connection :(

When Jarod and I moved in to our new place we ended up having cable and Internet even though we hadn't transfer ed our account, so we just canceled it and used the free stuff. A few weeks ago my laptop started shutting down on me. So I had to go get it fixed and am now waiting for a part to come. Next, our Internet would work for the sloooow PC, but not my laptop, so we had to hire someone to come fix it. Which worked for a few days. Then the Internet stopped working completely. Then yesterday our cable stopped working. I called Jarod at work, and he phoned our cable/Internet person to set it up. Turns out the last tenant didn't pay so they need us to fax or e-mail our tenant agreement to them to make sure we are new people and not just the old tenants pretending to be someone new. We do not own a fax machine, so Jarod will be sending it from work tonight. PHEW!

So because we have no TV or Internet, I spent last night doing dishes and watching all three of the original Star Wars :)

Happy Love Day!

Jarod and I had a nice Valentine's Day today. 

We slept in, then took Gizmo for a walk to the park. I had my hair cut at two o'clock and then we stopped off for a quick lunch at Steamrollers. We went to Lulu Lemon next so I could buy a backpack for school, and LUSH so I could get some face wash and moisturizer. I have had really dry skin around my nose for the past two years and need to control it before the wedding. Then we headed home and I had a nap while Jarod went to the grocery store and then made us a yummy dinner. He always makes me the sweetest dinner with heart-shaped tofu and mashed potatoes. Now we are sitting on the sofa watching TV together. I'm in quite a bit of pain today so I think it will be a nice night of staying home and just spending time together.

I have another book to add to my wish list! The Incredible Book Eating Boy looks like it has beautiful illustrations and will be a must have for when I have little ones :)

I haven't been posting much lately and I'm sorry. The past few weeks have been very hectic in the life of little miss Alice.

First off, we moved. And we have a LOT of stuff. I have bins and bins (and bins!) of craft/art supplies, but luckily they are now tucked away in our new storage room. We also had to give away a loveseat to my brother because it wouldn't fit in our new place. We love our new home and friends/family seem to like it much more too. It just feels much more comfortable, open, and warm.

I was sick again for several weeks (including the move) and the abdominal pain became so bad that I missed some school. It stopped about a week or so ago only to continue yesterday. My doctor had prescribed prometrium for me to take only if I was still having issues after Feb.7. It's now Feb.11, so I started taking it last night. It really knocked me out and I was still very groggy upon waking up this morning. I can't tell if I have any bad reactions to it yet, but I am really hoping I don't because apparently the side effects can be quite bad (the reason I was told to wait so long before using it).

My sexy new computer started to act funny on me about two weeks ago, shutting down on me or freezing up. Eventually the shut downs started happening sooner and sooner after start up to not even letting me get to the opening screen. Jarod and I took my laptop to the apple store on the weekend. They were very helpful and discovered that my extra RAM (I think) I got with the laptop wasn't working, so they ordered another one in for me. Pheewph. So glad my computer files weren't errased or anything. The computer works fine now, and they will install the new RAM for me when it comes in. Unfortunatley our internet stopped working on the laptop for some reason, but it workd on the house computer still. Grrrrr. I know only a medium amount about computers, and I am pretty new to macs, so we have to hire someone to come fix the problem.

Three months and five days until my wedding. Eeek. That's nuts. With the intense load of school work I have it is really hard to find time to do wedding planning, but I've managed to delegate a bit to Jarod, my mom, and Jarod's mom.

Oh! And I got a notice in the mail telling me I made the Dean's List again last term which is exciting :)
