trick or treat

Happy Halloween! Last weekend Jarod and I walked to Commercial Avenue where they were having a giant parade. We were dressed as Little Red Riding Hood and the Big Bad Wolf (dressed as the grandma). It was super fun walking through the huge crowd of people in costumes. They shut down the entire street so no cars were alloud. We were stopped several times by asian tourists who wanted to pose for photos with us! There was even a show of fire eaters which was super cool too.

Tonight I am having two friends over from from school. We are going to give out candy, bake, and do crafts!

Irma Gruenholz

I have fallen in love with an illustrator, Irma Gruenholz, who works mostly in clay. Her work is stunning and I am so inspired!

little red riding hood

For Halloween this year Jarod and I are going to dress up together. I am going to be little red riding hood, and Jarod will be the wolf dressed up as the grandma. I think it will be very cute.

Our landlord said no to us getting another dog. Her reasons: barking, poop, and there isn't enough room. First off, Gizmo never barks and she doesn't know what kind of dog we want, so she shouldn't think there would be barking. Second, she doesn't live downstairs with us so she shouldn't be concerned with how much room there is for us with another dog. And thirdly, yes Gizmo goes to the bathroom on her pretty lawn, but Jarod does a great job of making sure it's cleaned up. So we're frusterated and I want to move because our place is so tiny, but we can't afford anything else.

At least they are giving us another (used) oven today. I have ruined so many recipes because of the stupid thing including one I made for thanksgiving dinner. After a year of complaining, they're finally giving us another one.

Four Eyes.

My mom and I went to Lenscrafters last night and I tried on lots and lots of glasses before finding the perfect pair. They were ready in only an hour! They are Oakley's, and are really fun.

Tomorrow: Tasting with our caterer for the wedding. Jarod, my mom, Cindy and I will all be going. Then we are going to the Apple Festival out at UBC.

Sunday: No plans, so I will probably spend it doing homework. I would love this laptop since our home PC is really slow and I can't use my Photoshop, Illustrator, and Indesign on it, (therefor can only do homework at school) but I don't have an extra $1600.00 lying around, and Jarod and I aren't big fans of spending money we don't have. Paying off your credit card every month is a wonderful habit to get in to.

We have also decided to get an American Bulldog. Jarod seemed really passionate about it and at first I was totally opposed to the idea, but after researching the breed I am actually excited to get one too. They are wonderful with children and are very loyal pets. I really think Gizmo would like to have a friend around too (even if it is waaaaaay bigger than him). So now we are on the hunt for PUREBREAD puppies or adults who need to be rescued. We are going to be quite picky about the breeders and make sure the dog comes with health guarantees, etc.

I miss...

I miss scrapbooking.

I miss working at a scrapbook store and seeing all the fun new product.

I miss taking random pictures.

I miss my blogging world.

I miss living in a big house.

I miss having a dishwasher.

I miss having an oven that works.

I miss my dad.

I miss my grandparents.

I miss my sister.

I miss my first car.

I miss eating meat, cheese, etc. (for the taste)

I do not miss high school.

I do not miss eating meat, cheese, etc. (for the nastiness part).

I do not miss gym class.

I do not miss working at Michaels.

I do not miss being depressed.

Glasses

Turns out I'm not crazy, and I do need glasses (Yay!). I saw some nice ones there, but couldn't pick by myself so I'll get either my mom or Jarod to help me pick.
